Evelyn Saungikar
Evelyn Saungikar
Evelyn started writing songs as a teenager, then gave it up for many years. Having recently picked it up again, Evelyn draws on her classical and jazz training to write songs that look at life from a fresh perspective. Agnostic as to genre, she allows form to follow function in creating an eclectic body of work spanning blues, jazz, country and pop (so far). She eschews the obvious rhyme, yet her lyrics fit and flow seamlessly, with a certain inevitability. Her ability was recognized with an award for lyrics writing at SongStudio 2011 in Toronto this past summer.

Evelyn is working on improving her performance chops, as well as recording her songs (six so far) with a fine group of Toronto-based professionals.

A convergence of creativity. A confluence of artistic flow. A mingling of multi-talents.

When two seasoned singer/songwriters like Henry Lees and Lawrie Ingles combine efforts, the results are bound to be as tasty and satisfying as your favourite old mixtape or new playlist.

Toronto born and raised, Lawrie is one busy musician – singing, playing guitar, keys or bass in any number of bands at a time, including Elton Rohn, David Storey, Tristan Avakian, Southern Sky and Tyler Ellis and the Eddy Line. When he’s not playing, Lawrie’s out supporting live music, taking in more live shows than anyone we know. He’s also a talented songwriter and his wordplay-laden lyrics offer a trusting glimpse into his emotional and intellectual depth.

Originally a westerner, Henry fronted Calgary's popular original pop/rock band The Household Saints for a decade. Henry also performed nationwide with actor, musician and Order of Canada honouree Tom Jackson on his Huron Carole benefit tours, sharing stages with exceptional and lauded talents like Shannon Gaye, Kristian Alexandrov, Natalie McMaster, The Rankins, Melanie Doane and Charlie Major. Now calling Toronto home, Henry has dived head first into crafting and performing acoustic pop packed with heart and soul, collaborating with notable GTA artists such as Chris Antonik, The Prince Brothers and now, with Lawrie too.

They singularly shine on their own, but together, Lawrie Ingles and Henry Lees are uniquely and brilliantly entertaining.
