Darin Meilleur
Darin Meilleur
Darin Meilleur isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel. He makes raw, emotional music that wears its heart on its sleeve because that’s what draws people in to listen and experience it. Acoustic guitar-heavy and given its signature lushness by accordion, piano and organ, his palette of rock, country, folk, and blues take you back to the days of primordial sounds like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and The Band. His songs are written to tell you where he’s been, where he wants to go and to take you wherever you want.

Darin was born and raised in Montreal, with family musical roots in the Maritimes. Most every member of his family played or sang. Darin began playing traditional East Coast kitchen parties in his youth, and would spend several weeks every summer on Cape Breton Island soaking up its musical traditions. This Maritime influence shines in both his music and persona. Early in his musical career he played in numerous blues, rock and Latin bands in Montreal before relocating to Toronto in the early 90s.

He is well-known and respected in the Toronto indie scene from his work as a bassist and multi-instrumentalist with acts such as Big Name Actors, Shikha Sehgal and Melting Pot. He has performed at most major Toronto venues including The Horseshoe, Grossman's Tavern, The Rivoli, Molson Ampitheatre, and Harbourfront Centre.

He released his first single ‘Amelia’ in December 2014. After a year of writing and releasing demo tracks, he’s back in the studio and will be releasing several singles throughout 2017 with a full album coming out this fall. In February 2017, he and Shikha Sehgal travelled from Toronto to Vancouver and back aboard Via Rail’s iconic cross-country train The Canadian, playing music for delighted passengers several times a day throughout the week-long journey.
The Sun Harmonic
The Sun Harmonic
The moniker of The Sun Harmonic belongs to Kaleb Hikele, an eclectic musician and genre bending Canadian songwriter. Years ago, a rock frontman. Yesterday, a folk introvert. Today, he is a poetic piano man.

The Sun Harmonic is finally sharing his most ambitious and heartfelt release yet - the complete Winter album, a project that revisits Kaleb's earlier classical roots and love of the piano. This conceptual double-album is a big idea with a simple name, eight winter seasons in the making. With 22 songs at 88 minutes long (yes, one minute for every key) this music is guaranteed to keep you warm each winter season. The album is out into the world March 2017.

The Sun Harmonic has shared his music performing live across the country, touring as a solo folk artist to both the west and east coast of Canada. His recordings have aired on various campus and commercial radio stations with rave reviews, while reaching an even wider audience with his signature handmade CD's that have been mailed around the world.

Kaleb is a prolific artist who has maintained a constant output of diverse recordings since 2004. As The Sun Harmonic he released a self-titled album in 2009, followed by two full-length LP's in 2010 entitled Chemistry and Season. He returned with a rock couplet called The Eight of Hearts before revealing his ongoing piano project to the public.

In 2014, he reinvented himself in his home recording studio when he faced a songwriting assignment that he had been composing, during only the cold months of winter, for four consecutive years (2010-14'). This lead to his new body of work, an album appropriately called Winter, that features 22 piano songs with one vision. He believes it it to be his truest artistic statement to date.

Kaleb Hikele is an artist who wears many hats; woven from the influence of classical piano and folk-style guitar, stemming from his record collection of jazz, soul and rock vinyl. If you research his involvement in other musical tangents, you will find: King Snake Crawl, The Broadview Band, Hikele's ongoing "Demonstration" recordings and Moon Melody albums. He is always searching for his next recording adventure and artistic outlet.

In the past, a rock musician - day dreaming. In the present, an aspiring piano man - for the masses. In the future, he is a record - forever spinning...
